Background:

Mitochondrial transporter that functions as a long-chain fatty acid/LCFA and proton symporter, simultaneously transporting one LCFA and one proton through the inner mitochondrial membrane. However, LCFAs remaining associated with the transporter via their hydrophobic tails, it results in an apparent transport of protons activated by LCFAs. Thereby, dissipates the mitochondrial proton gradient and converts the energy of substrate oxydation into heat instead of ATP.

VALIDATION IMAGES

Western blot analysis of mouse skeletal muscle cell lysate. Using UCP1/3 (bsm-61899R) monoclonal antibody at 1:1000 dilution and 4°C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at r.t. for 60 min.

25 ug total protein per lane of various lysates (see on figure) probed with UCP1/3 monoclonal antibody, unconjugated (bsm-61899R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4°C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at r.t. for 60 min.
