Description:
Phytochemical that acts as an anti-inflammatory and phospholipase A2 (PLA2) inhibitor (IC50 = 40 µM in human neutrophils)1. Its mutagenic properties cause tumorigenesis and kidney damage in rodent models and in humans2,3. Induces NF-κB, TGF-β, and oxidative stress in mouse kidney, and mitochondrial apoptosis in rat liver4,5.
