Background:
Adenylate kinases are involved in regulating the adenine nucleotide composition within a cell by catalyzing the reversible transfer of phosphate groups among adenine nucleotides. Three isozymes of adenylate kinase, namely 1, 2, and 3, have been identified in vertebrates; this gene encodes isozyme 2. Expression of these isozymes is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. Isozyme 2 is localized in the mitochondrial intermembrane space and may play a role in apoptosis. Mutations in this gene are the cause of reticular dysgenesis. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes 1 and 2.

Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded Human gastric carcinoma; Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with AK2 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-55004R) at 1:100 overnight at 4°C, DAB staining.
Lane 1: 293T cell lysates; Lane 2: AK2 knockout (KO) 293T cell lysates probed with AK2 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-55004R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4˚C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at 1:20000 for 60 min at 37˚C.
Lane 1: HL-60 cell lysates; Lane 2: Mouse Liver lysates; Lane 3: Mouse Kidney lysates; Lane 4: Rat Liver lysates probed with AK2 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-55004R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4˚C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at 1:20000 for 60 min at 37˚C.
