Background:

Induces susceptibility to atherosclerosis (By similarity). Cell adhesion molecule which is required for leukocyte transendothelial migration (TEM) under most inflammatory conditions. Tyr-69 plays a critical role in TEM and is required for efficient trafficking of PECAM1 to and from the lateral border recycling compartment (LBRC) and is also essential for the LBRC membrane to be targeted around migrating leukocytes. Prevents phagocyte ingestion of closely apposed viable cells by transmitting 'detachment' signals, and changes function on apoptosis, promoting tethering of dying cells to phagocytes (the encounter of a viable cell with a phagocyte via the homophilic interaction of PECAM1 on both cell surfaces leads to the viable cell's active repulsion from the phagocyte. During apoptosis, the inside-out signaling of PECAM1 is somehow disabled so that the apoptotic cell does not actively reject the phagocyte anymore. The lack of this repulsion signal together with the interaction of the eat-me signals and their respective receptors causes the attachment of the apoptotic cell to the phagocyte, thus triggering the process of engulfment). Isoform Delta15 is unable to protect against apoptosis. Modulates BDKRB2 activation. Regulates bradykinin- and hyperosmotic shock-induced ERK1/2 activation in human umbilical cord vein cells (HUVEC).

Formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded rat brain labeled with Anti-CD31 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0468R) at 1:300 followed by conjugation to the secondary antibody and DAB staining.


Formalin-fixed: Endothelial cells labeled with Anti-CD31/PECAM-1 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0468R) at 1:200, followed by conjugation to the secondary antibody was Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, FITC conjugated(bs-0295G-FITC) at 1:200 for 40 minutes at 37°


Rat spleen cells probed with Rabbit Anti-CD31 Polyclonal Antibody (bs-0468R) at 1:100 for 60 minutes at room temperature followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) Alexa Fluor 488 Conjugated Secondary Antibody.


Recombinant human CD31 protein probed with CD31 Polyclonal Antibody, unconjugated (bs-0468R) at 1:300 overnight at 4°C followed by a conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000 for 90 minutes at 37°C.


Human Jurkat cells probed with CD31 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0468R) (green) at 1:100 for 30 minutes followed by a FITC conjugated secondary antibody compared to unstained cells (blue), secondary only (light blue), and isotype control (orange).


Lane 1: U937 Cells; Probed with CD31 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0468R) at 1:300 overnight at 4°C followed by incubation with a conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000 for 60 minutes at 37°C.


Lane 1: Huvec cell lysates probed with CD31 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0468R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4˚C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at 1:20000 for 60 min at 37˚C.
