Background:

The insulin-like growth factors, isolated from plasma, are structurally and functionally related to insulin but have a much higher growth-promoting activity. May be a physiological regulator of [1-14C]-2-deoxy-D-glucose (2DG) transport and glycogen synthesis in osteoblasts. Stimulates glucose transport in rat bone-derived osteoblastic (PyMS) cells and is effective at much lower concentrations than insulin, not only regarding glycogen and DNA synthesis but also with regard to enhancing glucose uptake. May play a role in synapse maturation.

VALIDATION IMAGES

Mouse liver lysates probed with Rabbit Anti-IGF-1 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0014R) at 1:300 overnight at 4˚C. Followed by a conjugated secondary antibody (bs-0295G-HRP) at 1:3000 for 90 min at RT.


Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded rat Carotid artery labeled with Rabbit Anti-IGF-I Polyclonal Antibody (bs-0014R), Unconjugated at 1:200 followed by conjugation to the secondary antibody and DAB staining

Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded Rat uterus; Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with IGF 1 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0014R) at 1:200 overnight at 4°C, DAB staining.
